The Staff
Meet Dr. Elise Reinalda
Dr. Elise has always enjoyed the companionship and love of animals from the time she was young. While growing up in Sioux Falls, S.D. she was surrounded with dogs and guinea pigs, and became a proud horse owner. She and her mother moved to Beresford in 2008 and built an acreage on 40 acres of family-owned land. The acreage allows her to care for and fulfill her dreams of owning horses, donkeys, dogs, and a pot belly pig named Toby.
Dr. Elise attended Dordt College and received a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2014. She played on the Dordt women’s basketball team and also met her husband, Owen at Dordt. During summer breaks at Dordt she was fortunate to be able to work at Tornberg Dairy and ac- quired an interest and love of livestock production medicine. Toby, her pot belly pig, was the inspiration for her interest and passion for caring for exotic animals.
Meet Dr. Britney Rauk
Dr. Britney joined us in January 2023 after working at a mixed animal practice in Northwest Iowa. She practiced heavily with small animal, feedlot, and cow-calf medicine at her previous clinic, and hopes to utilize that skillset here at BVC.
Dr. Britney attended SDSU (Go Jacks!) where she received a bachelor’s in biology. Her husband, Jordan, also attended SDSU and works in the agriculture industry. They traveled to Ames, IA where Dr. Britney attended vet school with Dr. Elise.
In her free time, Dr. Britney enjoys spending time with her husband, young daughter, and two dogs. She also enjoys going to Jackrabbit events, sporting events, and concerts when time allows. She’s hoping to expand her skillset in pocket pet and exotic medicine, and can’t wait to help keep your animals healthy!

it’s a family affair
Owen, Elise’s husband, is now the new Assistant Principle and Athletic Director at Beresford High School. Owen loves his new job, but will still help out around the vet clinic every once in awhile.
He and Elise have a family of “fur babies” including 2 dogs, 5 cats, 2 horses, 2 miniature donkeys, 2 pot belly pigs, 2 goats and scattered clusters of guinea fowl.
Elly - Kennel tech
Elly is a Senior at Alcester-Hudson and wants a job in the Veterinary field someday! She currently helps keep the place running by taking care of boarding dogs and keeping the place sparkling.
